The mark from my lover's hand is gone

but forever recorded in my bones and skin.

Everyday

my mind replays the moment 

his hand flew upon my face

the pain is still there. 

Such impact not only damaged my face 

but 

my love 

for him. 

Once

a tower of strength 

once

a tower of

comfort was he. 

But I realize

he is nothing. 

A poor excuse of a man. 

Ever banished from my gates 

from which he used to roam 

in order to love me.
