When do you guys think it's best to use 1st, 2nd, or 3rd point of view? Do you think certain POVs work better in certain genres? I just want to know your opinions.

I personally enjoy reading in first person because it makes me feel like I'm the one who is telling it. In other words, it relates me to the story teller. I think POV in first person is good since it gives us more insight on the character.
I read an article written in second person too and I think it's kinda interesting since it's so rare that a writer writes in second person. But when I read it, the writer uses I and you, which is second and first person so I think this is considered first person. I don't know.
I enjoy third person too although not as much as I enjoy first person. You can use third person if you are an omniscient narrator or if you know everything that happens with each character. You can use POV here too.
I'm not sure with the genres, though.

I used to prefer 3rd person, but now I'm leaning more toward 1st (and present tense; I love me some present tense). I don't think any POV is "best", though, it just depends on the author/story/reader. I have favorite books written in all sorts of different ways.

Well, I personally am partial to second person - one of my favorite pieces by me, in fact, (titled "The Interview") is written in that POV. I think any of them work well with any genre though, depending on how well fhe author can write it – though I may add, I don't think second person goes too well with longer pieces, like novels.

I've done a lot of third person, but I like second person too- I have some of my best stories in first person... so don't make me decide :'( I like all of them :)

Second person (and third person present tense, also rare) are great for short pieces and work that's designed to be artful instead of pure entertainment. It gets distracting in longer pieces, though.
I like first person because it's easier, it allows you to use idioms and expressions that you can't in third person, and it gives you the freedom to do either present or past tense.
Third person is great for when you purposefully want a more distanced tone or you're trying to follow multiple characters. I don't like switching between different characters in first person because it can confuse the reader- who's talking again?

Second person creeps me out. xD First is my favorite, but if you have multiple plot threads third is probably the best (that's what I had to do for mine). Best of luck!

First person is personally my favorite choice, it makes it easier to talk about a character's thoughts and feelings and makes the point I'm trying to get across more clear. Though depending on the situation I prefer third person.
