Okay, so XC happens to be one of the least appreciated sports. at my school, it's big! we are only a 2a school, but it seems like it's all evryone talks about. it's probably because our football team sucks very bad... but it's still awesome! anyone agree with me?

I love cross country! I've done it since I was a little kid in peewee at grade school. I especially love how everything thinks its sooo easy because it's "just running" when really there is so much more to it.

i know right? running takes a lot of training, and someone may be naturally good at it, but you can always improve!

Exactly! My friends are just like "oh, you're in cross country? how is it?" like they don't really care about it because it's just running. They think there's no teamwork or training required, just put shoes on and hit the road. Ugh. It irritates me so much!

I love XC!!  I just finished my first season (well, in October), and I loved it!!  It's not really big at my school, most people think we're crazy.  I love the team (family), the coaches, the races, the simplicity of just going out and running .  I love the workouts--they're sometimes the "realest" things after a day of school.  In school, you have to keep up a facade, but when running, you can be yourself, and the whole team knows it.  I'm coming back from an injury, so I can't currently run (it's KILLING me), but running will stay with me for the rest of my life!
