"How to brave, how can I love when I'm afraid?"
This is a shout out to horses and people who love them as well as any other animal! Do you have a horse or have a passion for them? Post your story  to share the bond you've discovered(:
I was and still am a "lost within" person. But once she was between the ground and I everything dissapeared. The rythem of her strides was a breath of freedom, as if we could  run forever and leave everything behind. She was my haven in my time of desperation. Id look in her eyes, study her movement... it was a language of silence.
"Be Brave." she said.

Hi! My user name is actually my horses show name, Murcielago. He is a 16.2/.3 dutch warmblood TB cross whose sire is Domino. I have been riding since I was 4 and in the past 2 years got to seriously competing in English Jumpers. During my first year of competition with my new horse Bugsy (Murcielago) I won the NTHJC first place spot in both my classes by a large margin. lately, we have been competing in Low Child Jumpers but jump up to 1.30m at home. We compete at the 1.00m-1.15m at the shows around us from Texas to Oklahoma!

I have always loved horses, but I've never ridden one. A bunch of my neighbors have them though. Once me and my little sister walked over to the fence of one of my neighbors and we were feeding Dakota, one of the horses. I'm not sure, but he looks like a palomino.
He was perfectly friendly, eating out of our hands and asking to be petted, but for some reason he suddenly bit my sister (you guys have horses so you know how strong their jaws are). She yanked her hand out of his mouth and was bleeding all over the place from two of her fingers, which were luckily still attached.
I told her to hold her hand up higher and we started home, and that dumb horse ran along the fence, asking us to come back. XD I don't think that Dakota is mean, just really dumb for a horse.
My sister had to have seven stiched. She still has ascar.
The neighbors paid the bill and invited us over to ride Blue, one of their smarter, gentler horses, but Mom wouldn't lets us go bevcaue she's paranoid.

(Sorry for any misspellings and typos and stuff, my blood sugar is low, so I'm feeling really stupid right now, and my eyes are too blurry to see andy typos.)

Horses are not stupid, that I am 100% sure of. They can act VERY ADD and ADHD like little kids. But they are highly intelligent. This horse that bit your sister wasnt because he was stupid or mean, he just throught her fingers were carrots or another form of treat. probably because her hand was not flat to the horses mouth.
Being an equestrian myself, I have put my hand in my horses mouth many times. They dont deliberately try and hurt you by biting, I can put my fingers straight into his mouth (from the side) because I know where and how he could bite. But sticking your fingers straight into their mouth or offering your fingers in that way, yes, they will ALL bite you haha! They just think your giving them a treat and take your hand instead! :) Really an innocent cause yes? Its just unfortunate that your sisters hand happened to be seen that way by this horse

I know that horses as a species are very intelligent, but I do think that this one is stupid. Either stupid or mean. You wouldn't say that people are stupid, or mean, but there are certainly stupid and mean people.
Dakota also bit one of my neighbors on the chest. People's chests don't look like carrots.

I don't think her hand was flat though. I wasn't watching, so I didn't see, but from what she's said she was moving her hand away from his mouth to pet his nose or something.
