Has anyone read this book? I saw the movie a couple days ago and loved it but I wanted to know if the books are just as good.

i read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yeah, the books are pretty awesome too. though the movie sort of skipped out on some details...

the book is better! They messed up a lot of stuff in the movie, of course. It's supposed to be in summer, there's supposed to be an invisibility hat involved, Annabeth has curly blonde hair and gray eyes, there's a scene where Percy finds out who his parent is and everyone's shocked, because in the book the "Big Three" (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades) aren't supposed to have any more kids. There's a whole series. You should read it :)

OMG I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS SERIES. ♥ its really good and rick riordan is an amazing person :) i sent one of my pieces to him

The book is WAY different from the movie. Both are awesome, but the plots aren't even the same. First off: the kids are supposed to be TWELVE, not in high school. Second off, Percy and Annabeth don't kiss until the end of the series, and the pearl things? Those are in the book, but the book doesn't center on them gathering them. It's about the kids getting to Hell and stuff.
I have no idea how the production company's going to be able to continue with the series since they changed the first one so much... it's basically impossible to make a movie about the second book since so much builds off of what happens in the first.
I did REALLY like the movie, though. It was fun to watch. :) It just wasn't the book.

i haven't seen the movie but i have read all five books in the series, and i thought they were all good...they are just nice light reads..the first one is good, give it a shot(:

It is good that you saw the movie first, because it was horrible compared to the books. I liked the movie, but too much was changed, left out, or created.

Most amazing book ever! Actually, it's the most amazing series ever! I love them! It's filled with action and fantasy. Percy is just cocky and cool and loveably. Rick Riordan is an awesome writer!

I only read the first book and it was ah-mazing. And the movie was great too. The movie didn't butcher the book for once!!!!

Read the books, you won't be disappointed!! True, the movie and the book are completely different, but I really liked it anyways.

I definatly like the books better than the movie. Compared to the books, the movie kinda sucked.

They changed alot in the movie but the did make almost everything mythologically acurate

Awesome! The series are one of the few kinds I can read over and over again-I'm a bookworm too, but usually I hate readign the same books again :) a great deal of immagination-and i think the books are still better than the movie
