"... Just-" Ultima hesitated. He'd needed someone to have his back at all times. "Fine... Just be careful."
Rokkel nods slightly, copper eyes locked on the door. "Careful. Got it," she mutters under her breath, inky hair falling in one eye.
"Good. I'll distract him and you can shoot him with your bow when there's an opening." Ultima closed in on the enemy. His daggers were glaring in the dark. With a slight shift to his right Ultima struck with his right dagger. The monster dogded.
Rokkel tosses the sword to Lukas, an arrow notched to her bow within seconds, aimed at the monster. "Come on... Just a bit closer..."
Ultima saw Rokkel notch her bow. He needed to get the monster to stop moving, so he did something risky. He dashed straight towards the monster but barely moved it. Ultima's mistake because it flung him back into the wall.
Rokkel curses under her breath, loosing the arrow and quickly notching another in case the first didn't hit it's mark, though more often than not she did hit her target.
Ultima lay down there for a second, he was seeing stars. "Ugh..." A couple seconds later he recovered and got back up. He cursed and picked up his blades. "You aren't going to get the better of me."
"Lukas, get in there!" Rokkel snaps, loosing her second arrow at the monster. Lukas rolls his eyes, muttering something about not wanting to be turned into a pin cushion before lunging at the monster.
Ultima stood there looking like an idiot. He wasn't standing out but still he knew he should do something. An idea in his head formed, he smiled. "Hey you idiot! You've been tracking me ever since I was running and you still haven't killed me yet! Come on and bring it on!" The last thing he said was something too profane to be mentioned. The monster hesitated and it looked more angry. "Now I'm looking like an idiot" Ultima whispered.
"Oh, to he.ll with this..." Rokkel grumbles, swiftly notching and firing a third arrow, a slight smile touching her lips when the arrow pierced the monster's eye.
The monster groaned and it bellowed with rage and fire started engulfing the room. "We better get out." Ultima ran for the door and motioned for Rokkel and Lukas to come."
Rokkel nods, dragging Lukas out of the cottage, glancing back. "Well... There goes my only 'safe' place..."
"Better than burning though." Ultima stared at the moon. His face was passive, "we'll make a straight run for the safe house I told you about. Let's go!" He started running.
Rokkel nods, following, not daring to look back.
Ultima dashed through the woods, he looked back and hoped saw Rokkel and Lukas behing him. Behind them was the bright fire of the cabin. Ultima stopped and waited for Rokkel and Lukas. "Catching my breath... I'm still recovering from that injury and when that monster threw me."
Rokkel nods, leaning against a tree, the slightest hint of blood visible through her shirt. "Yeah... Good idea."
After a moment of rest Ultima looked back, "well I think we should get moving now." He started walking.
Rokkel sighs, following with Lukas. "I' m hoping you have a needle and thread at your house. II will most likely need it."
"The last time I checked, there wasn't any." Ultima kept on walking on. "Let's jack a car and get there faster... I'm getting bored walking."
