When two best friends are torn apart as teenagers, all meaning to life is ripped from them. An entire country and ocean stands between them for years after Sharina is sent to a girls only boarding school in England, leaving behind her friend in Washington. Years later at the age of 22, Sharina returns to her home only to find that it's been destroyed in a fire, as well as her friend's. She finds that it wasn't really home that she had been coming back to, it had been him, the one single person who had always believed in her and helped her through painful times. She refuses to believe the fire killed him. And she needs him more than ever now, not just as a friend.
