Yeah. Sabien responded, he may not like it ut he had to team up with Xanthe to get Quinn gone. He really wasn't stoked about it, but he knew that Quinn would either run out of steam or fin dthem, and wans't exactly happy about the idea of her finding them.
If Xanthe had been in control of her body at that point, she would’ve sighed in relief. She had enough power to get outside. Good. First, you should know that this will last a while… The scientists rigged it to where Quinn would remain dominant so long as she’s angry. They of course picked a total hot head to merge with me, and the last episode went on for three weeks.
Three weeks? Sabien asked, this wasn't going to be any fun, holing upin the back of an old grocery store for three weeks with anoterhs oldier and small girl whom he didn't trust in the least bit,
Is there a way to shorten the episode? LIke if Quinn passes out or something? Sanien asked.
Hm… In theory, yes. She would have to fight me of in the mental sphere, in which I would clearly have the advantage. The problem is, no one has ever gotten close enough to touch her. Quinn knows a lot about military tactics; she used to be a guard. They wanted to replace my mind with hers to control my newfound abilities and have a blindly loyal weapon, but something went wrong. Instead she just merged with me and went crazy. On top of that, she was hiding a power from her superiors. The power to make atoms attack themselves, Xanthe explained.
Oh lovely. Sabien thought, he turned to Jason,
"Jason sir," he said to get his attentiona dn then explained what Xanthe had just told him, he ignored Zak, she woulnd't be much good when it came to battle stragy and fighting, she was too small adn weak looking.
Jason listened as Sabien briefed the situation. He rubbed his temples in concentration. “Well, that’s great…” he muttered. “Okay. There has to be a specific range where her power is usable. I can’t throw lightening past a certain point. So if we stick to a long range attack…”
Xanthe, is there a range for Quinn's power? Sabien asked. He still ignored Zak though, not thinking that she could be useful.
Yes, but as long as I can communicate with you you’re probably in it. My telepathy isn’t as strong in recessive form. From past experiences… I would think she couldn’t do anything past half a mile… maybe closer to a third or a quarter, Xanthe guessed. She went silent for a minute, exchanging a few lines with Jason before continuing. Is it true—Zak’s with you? Willingly? I think I have an idea…
Yeah Zak's with us, she's too weak and small to do anything useful. Sabien said, he shot Zak a look of scourn, he didn't like small weak poeple, they were so pathetic adn wimpy. He looked to Jason to see if he had a plan that didn't involve a pthetic little child.
Xanthe, smart enough to know not to try and convince Sabien, went straight for Jason and Zak. She told Jason to think of a way to knock Quinn out from a considerable range, and a little of her plan. She then moved on to Zak. Hey, you there? Be sure and respond so I know I’m making it through to you. Would you be willing to help those to out to help me get control of myself again?
Jason figured he’d listen to the chick. She probably knew more about what should be done than they did. “We need a way to get her out cold, while she’s positioned on the ground and us on the top of a building. My lightening wouldn’t be accurate enough from that distance, and I’ve seen no other weapons around. Any ideas?”
Zak paused at what Xan said, she was nervous, she just wanted to be safe, she didn't want to be in danger and out there where she could be hurt. But then again she didn't want to have to stay here until Quinn turned to Xanthe, Oh...OK, what do you want? she asked.
You’re going to have to not tell Sabien, he thinks you’re too weak to be of help. Jason will know, though. He’ll have your back with plan B. And I can also disable her from the inside. You’ll be completely safe—I promise. Remember how Quinn was trying to get you to help her find the guard? Well, I’m going to need you to distract her by coming and telling her you found him. You’ll pretend to show her the way. After that, the guys will attack her from on top of a building and hopefully knock her out or get her weak enough for me to take over. It’ll only take a small strike…she has my hemophiliac body. Understand? Xanthe informed.
Yeah...Zak said nervously she stood up adn went over to Sabien, she was nervous but told him what she was told to tell hima dn then she left the room, she headed outside adn peeked around the croner of the alley trying to find Quinn.
In the midst of all this, Quinn had leveled three buildings. “WHERE ARE YOU!?” She kicked at the rubble irritably. “Xanthe, why won’t you help me? Talk to me! Grrrgh. Where is that stupid guard!”
Jason stood. “We should probably get into position, each on a separate building to allow a greater chance of success. All we have to do is chuck something at her, I suppose. It’s not exactly a military tactic, but maybe that’ll come in handy. She won’t expect it.”
Zak saw the rubble and saw Quinn, she walk forward,
Quinn." she said nervous, "Are you sure they, theyw ere going to hurt me?" she asked quietly, she scared out of her wits, and didn't need toa ct to be nervous. Zak's hands shooka t her side adn she kept a safe distance form Quinn.
Quinn looked over to see the girl from earlier. She had come back? So that meant Quinn was good at manipulating people like Xanthe? Quinn smiled, anger receding a bit but she made sure to keep the image of the guard in the back of her mind. “Of course. They came barging in on your building didn’t they? One even shot lightening at you. And the other just hates you completely. So yeah, they wanted to hurt you.”
"Yeah." sje said, she kicked the ground for a bit and then spoke up again,
"I found 'em."she said, she signaled Quinn to follow her and ran off doewn the alley, while she moved she wondered if she really should lead Quinn to the soldiers, after all the thing she'd said had been true.
Quinn smiled largely. She had gotten quite lucky, hadn't she? This little girl was going to lead her right to the guard. Then, she could tear him to shreds in recompense for what they did to her. Locking her up in the body of some mental psychopath. How dare they! They were her underlings, and they did that to her? They all deserve to die.
Zak turned and jogged down a really narrow alley, she was thinking, what if Quinn was right and those epople were going to harm her? What if Xan wa slying to her? Zak was scared adn paranoid, she needed to be safe, she turned again and led Quinn towards the boys except not in the way she was suppose dto, she was leading Quinn behind the boys, where they wouldn't expect her, she had to elminate the threats. Zak though that the boys had a high likely hood of hurting her, so she had make sure they couldn't, she led Quinn behind the boy's hiding spot.
Quinn walked up to the door carefully, quietly. This was is it. The guard was behind this door. She touched the grainy surface of the weathered wood and stepped back. Three seconds later, the door disinigrated with a flash. She laughed menacingly as she passed the threshold into the darkened room. "Oh Sabien..."
Xanthe had a general idea of what Zak did, but there wasn't much that could be done. She found herself unable to get through to anyone now that Quinn was making her conciousness attack her. She was powerless at present.
