Jas approached the house as slowly as possible from behind it. She had seen windows and doors shut and heard voice from inside-there were definitely people in there, and they didn't sound infected. A couple of the voices sounded very young, children maybe. She stood with her back against the wall, on the back of the house, thinking she might just stay there for a little bit and listen, see if it would be safe to try to get inside.
Kayley turned around and looked out the window. "We don't know anything for sure, and if they're infected we may not know until it's too late... for all of us. There's a cabinet over there, there may be food." She walked with Keirnan and opened the cabinet. Inside were a few tiny fruit containers that generally were put in lunch boxes, a few cans of creamed corn, and powdered drink flavorings, and boxes of pasta yet to be boiled. Kayley grabbed the fruit and corn. "This'll have to do for now. With no running water, the only thing we have to eat or drink is this. We should portion it out carefully saving some for later," she said.
((A few of us should make guy charries because there are way too many girls here.))
Name: Westly Kalvin
Appearance: His tan skin is covered in filth and grime. His long dark hair is twisted into dreadlocks and braided. It hangs around his shoulder blades. His dark eyes are curious and sincere.
Bio: He was a pacifist and always refused to hurt or kill anybody or anything. He still hates to do it, and he avoids it when he can but he does everything he can to protect his son Addam -- but he doesn't have a son, at least, not anymore.
((nevermind I'm confused myself))
((I had to read everything out loud about five times before understanding what happened so feel free to jump in whenever if you want or don't if you don't want to. :) ))
Westly ran down the street. A horde of diseased chase behind him. "Addam, keep up!" he panted, "I will not lose you like I lost your mother!" He ran until he reached a small mobile home development. He broke his way through a door and shut it quickly blocading the cracked wooden door with the heaviest things he could find. "We're safe now, Addam. Sit down, rest. We're safe."
Keirnan heard someone running adn yelling and heard a crash, like someone had broken in. She clutched Kaylay's hand tighter and moved closer to her, looking around too see what had just happened.
Dylan made his way cautiously to the house. Jo was still clutched to his chest, her tiny fingers gripping as tightly at her shirt as she could.
"H-hello?" He called cautiously.
((Westly is not at the same house guys. He's in a mobile home nowhere near the house we're all congregated in...))
((Oh, OK..well the crash could be something else...sorry 'bout that))
Keirnan heard someone speak outside, she let go of Kaylay and tip toed forward to the door, Th einfected had a specific speech pattern, this person was speaking normally. Keirnan reached up and trie dto open the door, but she could only barely reach the knob and the door had been locked.
Keirnan looked at the others,
"They soun' good, let them in." she said.
Amy peaked through the small window. Keirnan was right, they sounded normal. "What do you think Kayley?" Amy asked, after all she was the adult here.
"Are you infected?"Kayley asked cautiously. She thought for a moment. "How many are you and are there infected anywhere near?" She had to keep the children safe afterall, whether that be from the infected, or from other humans. She moved toward the door carefully sheilding the girls behind her.
Jas could hear the people inside speaking, but not in her direction. She figured there must be someone else trying to get in. Carefully she turned around to face the house and peered through a small gap in the wood planks covering it. She could see, just slightly, the figures of a woman and two smaller children. It was pretty obvious by their actions that they weren't infected. Still, Jas stayed quiet and decided to watch them a little longer.
Amy was trying her hardest to be brave. She didn't want to run away from all of this, yet she didn't want to become infected. Amy clung to Kayley's side as she walked towards the door. "Do you think they are infected?" She asked quitely.
"I-I'm not infected. Neither is my daughter. The infected aren't anywhere near." Dylan answered as Jo made a tiny whimpering sound as she clutched at his shirt. He moved his hand to stroke at her hair lightly, trying to comfort her even though his hands were shaking slightly.
Amy ventured foward slightly curious and peaked through the small window. The man looked exashted and he clutched a small child to his chest. Amy's heart went out to the two. "Kayley, they aren't infected, let them in!" Amy tried to undo the door herself, but she was to small to slide the bolt back.
Keirnan heard what they said she wante dto help open the door but Amy couldn't even reach the bolt so Keiran knew she couldn't. She kept clinging to Kaylay's side and watching the door she looked up at her adn smiled,
"He's got a little girl." she said upon hearing a tiny whimper through the door, "You'll let them in right?" she asked.
Kayley hesitated. She pulled the girls away from the windows and guarded them behind her back. Slowly she unlocked the front door. "Girls, go wait in the kitchen," she said authoritatively, "Now." She waited until the girls were safely in the kitchen to take hold of the firepoker before letting the people in.
Dylan stepped in cautiously with Jo up in his arms. He was tired, run completely ragged and utterly exhausted. He gave the stranger a wide eyed look and a grateful nod.
Keirnan peeked out from the kitchen, she saw the man enter, he was holding a little girl. Keirnan stepped out and went over to Kaylay, standing up on her tip toes and grabbing Kaylay's hand,
"Hi!" she said cheerily to the newcomer, he looked tired and like he was upset,
"What's wrong?' she asked.
