I can't remember the last time it was this cold. But maybe it wasn't just the bitter air or the snow that made me shiver, maybe it was what I was the scene I was taking in that made me so numb.
The laid out body before me, crumpled on the porch steps, made my gut wrench. The snow, beautifully painted with crimson, broke my heart. The bottles, tossed arount, seemed to laugh as a single tear fell from my empty eyes. All the while, words echoed in my swirling mind...
