This is my call to local governments to support teen organizations and run community service organizations. Big rallies full of hope-filled celebrities are fine and good but they have the unfortunate side effect of driving away many of my peers who are interested in participating in community service programs.
My theory is that we, as teens, are already told what to do by adults 24 hours a day, which frustrates us. However, many teens want to participate in working to fix their community. This energy could be put to use if local governments would provide materials and funding for community service organizations run by teenagers themselves. fl
