I had only just received this October's Teen Ink, but the first composition I set eyes on in the issue was Good-Bye, Never Neverland submitted by Erica Maybaum. The story about her getting hit by a car because of a drunk driver, her broken neck, her recovery, and the court hearing collectively made my eyes well up with tears. This piece was beautifully written and I felt like I was next to Maybaum the entire time.
The author always put in her thoughts which made it seem more realistic. Sometimes, I read something and I think, "This isn't a true story." In this case, that didn't happen. When the accident was described I felt myself clinging onto every word with wild thoughts racing in my head. I think this article was expertly written and deserved to be published.
