Wild-Hearted

Julia C's thrilling short story, "Wild-Hearted," made me smile and wish there was another chapter. Heck, I wish it was an entire book! Personally, I love dystopian fiction, and this just added to the reasons.

One of the main things I liked about "Wild-Hearted" was that the author didn't give you a crystal clear description, but gave off more information as the story progresses. Another thing that made the story pop out to me was the concept of being a Tame or a Savage, or a Wild. To me, it added some extra flavor to that science fiction theme. Julia's imagery was amazing, too. From "He gazes at the Wild boy with a look of sadistic pleasure, lips curled back to reveal uneven yellow teeth," to "Her moss green eyes, mottled with amber, stare unseeingly into the sky, searching for the life that has been torn out of her," you can picture yourself in the scenes. As a writer, I feel that that's an important aspect to include.

I loved "Wild-Hearted" and I wish there was more to read. I strongly encourage you to read this story, and I strongly encourage Julia to write more. If that story was turned into a book, I would definitely buy it. I hope you would too.
