He sits there by himself,
forever just observing
and since nobody likes him
then, he must be undeserving.
He thinks he's something horrible,
and no one understands -
He basks in silent misery,
his head upon his hands.
The cruelty of his classmates
and the heartless things they say!
Pain and humiliation
are with him every day.
He sits alone in the lunchroom
and kids aren't discreet at all.
It breaks my heart to watch him struggle
not to let tears fall.
He's learned to be suspicious
of all those who seem kind;
he's not USED to being treated
like a human, with a mind!
He's just been hurt too many times
by kids who didn't know
the damage they were doing
to his wounded, hopeful soul.
