I crawl in my house created with love
With an embrace it happily greets me
Huddled together, in a dark warm cove
The outside world as hidden as can be

In the crease of his neck, my tired head fits
Hiding from reality in a shell
The world that we criticize never quits
His wit and smile, puts me under a spell

The days grow dark and short as does my soul
Birds flee down south, quickly flapping their wings
Cold and alone I crawl back in my hole
Waiting for the moment when the bird sings

It’s when we part, I feel pain from within
Now let the countdown start let it begin
