Washington, D.C.: Georgetown University has well-respected academics, social and political awareness, a diverse and enthusiastic student body, and a wonderfully close-knit community.

The school was founded in 1789 by John Carroll, a Jesuit priest who emphasized the importance of diversity in creating well-rounded students. The total undergraduate enrollment is over 6,000 and the student body represents 81 countries, which exposes students to many cultures and ideas.

Georgetown is recognized for its liberal arts, foreign affairs, language arts, and nursing programs. Undergraduates are enrolled in one of four schools: the School of Foreign Service; McDonough School of Business; the School of Nursing and Health Studies; or the College of Arts and Sciences. The professors and guest speakers are often political leaders, authors, and other recognized scholars. Located in our nation’s capital, Georgetown is also a great place to get involved in business, politics, and international affairs. The city provides great internships for students and career opportunities for graduates.

In addition to superior academics, Georgetown students also have great social lives. There are many activities that make it seem unnecessary ever to step foot off campus, but D.C. is so alluring, with great shopping and dining, that every student incorporates the city into their everyday life. Their website is georgetown.edu.

I am really interested in going to this school. Recently went on a field trip to D.C and only got to see part of it.
