Everyone that understands the game of football will agree that it is a very violent and time consuming sport and you can’t afford to take time off if you want to be successful. But not everyone seems to agree on the topic of what is better, College or NFL? Due to personal experience I can honestly say I think that NFL is way better than College.

Every time I turn on the TV and try to watch a college football game, it is either a game where it is the number eight team in the country playing a non-ranked team or just two non-ranked teams playing each other. To even watch a good college football game you have to wait till the end of the season to watch good teams play each other. College is just full of blow outs and top teams thinking they have to play weaker teams to boost their confidence. Not to mention the way the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) ranking system works is a joke! No one even understands how it works. An example of this comes from this year’s season (2010). Oregon and Auburn are the two top ranked teams in college football. But Oregon who has the top ranked offense in all of college football and is undefeated is number two beside Auburn who is number one. It all needs to be based on the schedule strength and how they play against other ranked teams and not just the record and the statistics. This is what brings the ethics of college football down to a minimum.

Although College football may be hard to understand and watch, at least if you turn on an NFL game you can actually enjoy good close games instead of blow outs all the time. In the NFL, the teams are filled with unbelievable talented athletes. This is what makes the NFL so much fun to watch. You can see those amazing players do their job and you never know when an underdog team will shock the world by beating one of the top teams in the NFL. Example comes from week 6 in the NFL when the St. Louis Rams who were the worst team in the NFL a year ago beat the San Diego Chargers who are a playoff threat in the NFL every year. That just shows that in the NFL, a team can beat any other team on any given day.

College and the NFL may be very different in their own special ways but it is still football and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to even make it to that level of football. But the way the NFL works, and the types of plays you get to see, and the teams you watch, and the upsets that go on are what help the NFL pull away in the race for the best league of football to watch on TV.
