A New River

i like perpetual things,
everlasting,
boundless,
and eternal.
like the ocean,
there's no beginning,
and no end.
and it's always beautiful,
even at it's worst moment,
there's so much i'll never know,
so much i want to experience.
i like promises,
things i can be sure of,
yes, eternal things.
that's why mother says i'll never fall in love.
