The story about the snowman that Caeleigh wrote was so eye opening. In her story she tells us that when she was in kindergarten, a boy from her class was critized by the teacher for drawing his snowman differently. In school we are taught to have creativity and imagination but with that you must follow the original plan. The little boy’s snowman was plum color and going from big to small. What he drew was his own idea of what a snowman could look like. Instead of being praised by his teacher, he was scolded and put to shame. It’s upsetting because in kindergarten, you are supposed to explore what your mind can come up with. This boy did just that, but he had his thoughts put down. What Caeleigh showed us was that we do have creativity, its just on a leash.
