Walt Disney World is a place where dreams come true for many families around the world. Many people assume, because Disney is centered around characters, that it is only a destination for small children. This is totally and completely incorrect. Although many people believe Disney to be a destination for small children, there are many exciting attractions that appeal to teenage audiences.
Since I have just returned from a fantastic week in Florida, I can tell you that Disney World is a thrilling place to be. The park which most people associate with Disney is the Magic Kingdom. When I first enter this park, the attraction I first run to is Space Mountain. This roller coaster in the dark is completely exhilarating! Once my Space Mountain rush is done, I briskly walk a short distance to the Buzz Lightyear ride. Although this sounds like a wimpy experience, it is actually a very fun ride which allows you to challenge your friends and family to a competitive game, while also defeating the "Evil Emperor Zurg." For those of you who enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, you can stroll over to the ride of the same name and load your battleships, but beware because, as they say in the ride, "Dead men tell no tales." If it is a warm day and you are up for a good soaking, head over to Splash Mountain where you can have a " zip-a-dee-doo-dah day!" As you can tell, the Magic Kingdom is truly magical, and the adventure becomes complete after watching its nightly fireworks spectacular.
Another fun place to visit is Epcot. My favorite attraction at this park is the Test Track. It is a simulated car safety test, which lets you experience handling runs, environmental tests and an excited speed test, which can get the car up to speeds of 65 miles per hour! After your thrilling joy ride, you should hurry over to Soarin’. This ride simulates flying over some of California's most adored places of interest. It is truly an experience for all of your senses. Another technologically advanced ride is Spaceship Earth, which allows you to create your own virtual world of tomorrow. If you want to explore more technology, visit Innoventions, which is a virtual gaming center with many games to enjoy. These are just a few of the many interesting attractions you can find at Disney's Epcot Center.
If you are an animal lover, then Disney's Animal Kingdom is the place you should go. Many people's favorite attraction is Expedition Everest. This is a thrilling roller coaster with many trick turns, stops and drops. When you have had enough of the Yeti, you can go back in time at the Dinosaur ride, which takes you back to the Cretaceous Period where you can "meet" some dinosaurs; but hold on, because, as they say, "it is going to be a bumpy ride!" When it is a hot day, you should run over to Kali River Rapids to soak yourself and get cool. After that, what better way to dry off than by watching the elephants on the Kilimanjaro Safari Expedition, where you can see many wildlife species roaming free within the reserve. Before you leave, you should check out the Festival of the Lion King show, which is fabulous! All of this fun-filled activity makes for a great day at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The fourth and final park in Disney World is Disney's Hollywood Studios. One of the newest attractions is the American Idol Experience, which encourages many people to express their musical talents. This is an actual audition experience and the person who wins American Idol at the park each day receives a front-of-the-line pass to an actual American Idol audition! While you are in the mood for music, Aerosmith provides great music for Rockin’ Rollercoaster, which supplies you with a really fast car to get you to the "concert." Another one of Hollywood studio's major attractions is Tower of Terror. This is an intense ride which includes lots of drops and excitement. To finish off your day, go to the Fantasmic light and laser show at night. It is wonderful.
Disney is place where people of a variety of ages can enjoy a wide array of attractions. It gives younger guests more relaxed rides, while allowing active teenagers to have more thrilling adventures. Although I have only mentioned a tiny portion of what you can see and do, if you explore Disney World for yourself, you will get the whole experience and you will find favorites of your own. Disney makes you feel happy and is an adventure that you will remember for the rest of your life.
