"Through the thick gloom of the present I see the brightness of the future." -Daniel Webster

Holding on to love is like washing your face with fire; it burns you with a tormenting sorrow; visible in an occasional frown, and in those palpable tears of anguish.
I don't want to love her.
I try and plead not to love her.
But my endeavors are all to no avail.
I know I blew my chance but, not having her only strengthens my natural attraction to her.
This Love is like a taunting breeze;
moreover this is love that burns the innocent seas.
Truly, the most heartbreaking aspect of falling love is knowing that my love is not in love with me.

Seriously amazing job! At first, I checked your page to see if you had anything new approved and I saw this poem. From the first line, you caught my attention. I love the simile in the first line: "Holding on to love is like washing your face with fire..." You never fail to impress!
