This little place of horrors

This little place of horrors,
Just keeps building up

This little place of horrors,
In the deep dark places of my mind,
Things people never see in me

This little place of horrors,
I’ve learned after time,
Not to share with anybody,
So I’ve learned to hide well

This little place of horrors,
Is such a dark and twisted place,
A place that scares even me,
I don’t dare share it with the world,
In fear of what might occur

This little place of horrors,
Is patient, is wise,
It know how to sit and bide its time,
It knows when I am weakest,
It knows when I am strong,
It knows just how to string me along

This little place of horrors,
Won’t ever set me free,
Until I let it out in fear of insanity,
It takes hold of me sometimes,
Though I’ve learned to tame it,
But when it’s strong enough,
It breaks out of its cages

This little place of horrors,
Keeps me from rhyming well,
It makes my world go dark,
When I can listen but cannot tell,
It’s that one little corner,
Shoved into my mind,
But it’s the only corner,
That is truly mine

I wrote this because as a child, I was bullied (a lot). And though I keep that part hidden inside of me very well, sometimes it breaks through.
