Sparks Fly
Eyes glow
 Ears go blind
 As the sky is decorated
 with orbs of light

 Daytime stars
 Jump through the puddles
 That stain the grass red
 Their forms
 Send lights through the village

 Ash rains down
 As the screams slip through
 the lifeless hands
 Of those who have fallen

 Sparks
 are launched into the sky
And hit the ground with a deafening hush

 Souls
 whisper their goodbyes
As their cloudy beings weave through
 Their lovers’ silent arms

 Their bodies hover
 And witness the beginning assault
Until they can stay no longer

 They follow the sparks
 To the sky
 And watch the fire

 Sink.
 And disappear
 Underneath the life
 That everyone will soon forget
