Purple rain
Flooding the battlefield.
Slaughtered plums
Gushing wisdom,
The wisdom
Of the dead,
Sharing the honor
With the fallen ones.
Bleeding –
Fuchsia blood,
Mixing in with
The foggy amethyst,
Gunpowder still fresh
In their chest.
Dying for us –
An honorable death.
Purple hearts
Scatter the field
Twice over.
Some
Still hanging on,
Praying.

An argument,
Wine spilled
Among friends –
Turning into
A war,
Blood poured
Among enemies.

The exaggeration of it all,
What happens
Behind closed doors
Doesn't always
Stay
Behind closed doors.
