“Have you ever seen a witch fall from the sky on a broom?” I certainly know I haven’t even though that would be totally amazing. Chris Van Allsburg is a pretty good author, if you ask me. This book is one of his many books. The Polar Express is one of his many famous books, along with The Widow’s Broom. You will enjoy The Widow’s Broom very much and is a very creative and imaginary fairytale. The widow will experience a very odd thing and turn it into a very interesting story.
A widow finds herself in possession of an extraordinary broom left by a witch, who fell into the widow’s garden. The characters were very interesting to me. The widow which is Minna Shaw and her Neighbors. The neighbors had lots of kids. I’m surprised they could remember all of the names. They were all on a farm and suddenly one of the kids came and saw the broom. The kid must of came at the wrong time because the broom was chopping wood, “How could a broom chop wood,” you might say. Don’t think I’m making this stuff up either because you will find this a very surprising book.
Once the neighbors actually see the broom, they say it’s “dangerous.” Somehow the broom and Minna Shaw become very good friends, even though they say it’s dangerous. Wait a minute, “Isn’t that weird, how can a broom be dangerous?” The broom and Minna Shaw are very close now and play a very sneaky trick on their neighbors. They start feeling very terrified and frightened. Something big comes up and will surprise all.
The book is very interesting, so make sure that you read it. Chris lives in Rhode Island that may be your home town. Amazing I live in the same state as an amazing author. He has won two Caldecott medals for his amazing children books. He has two kids and a wife, which sounds like a nice little life. “Have you ever thought about writing a book?”Well, maybe you should try writing a story and see if you’re interested. If so, keep writing stories and maybe one day you’ll become a famous author.
