Silent Moon

November 1, 2012
By Anonymous

The pavement shudders, The trees shiver, The leaves scuttle away, All of nature fears. Only the moon remains, Unscathed , Fearless, Still. Children scream, Birds fly away, All of nature hides, But the moon remains. A perfect circle, Pasted in the sky, Fulfilling its duty To shine light on the planet. As devils roam the earth, Monsters howl at the sky, It spies silently, Watching. Yet even when it hears those screams of terror, Sees slaughtering of children, Smells raw flesh, It yells no cry for help, Stops no murderer from getting loose, Reports no crime it witnessed. It stares, Motionless, Heartless, Silent. The moon, Forever watching. Brave, Dauntless, But cruel, Remorseless.
