Mimicking Your Step

"Shall we dance?"
you ask with your warm smile
that melts my heart everytime.
You take a hesitant step forward,
and I mimic your step
with my own.
Your hands rest on my waist,
as mine wrap around your neck.
Swaying side to side along with
the slow rhythm
you look up at me with those
brown eyes that give me
butterflies.
I lean over to your ear,
and whisper softly
"I love you."
His intent lips meet mine
and time halts.
My heart quickens, and
I lose my trembling breath.
All of those feelings combined
assure me that
you are the one.
