Parallel
Planted in the earth
Follow the slick, cold metal
Every foot rests on a rung
Every step leads
To the sky
Up
Up
Up
Past worlds, stars,
Galaxies
As far as knowledge knows
And then some
Look up
There is more
It's like racing to something
That isn't even
There

It was for a poetry assignment in English class. The idea to go off of was "infinity".
