Strolling down my neighborhood streets,
I feel something wet slide down my cheeks.
A tear? No.
I hear
Plop, patter, splash.
Oh, no!
Rain!
No umbrella!
I've got to get home!
I'm racing the rain,
And we're both determined to win.
All around me I hear
Drip, drop, drip.
I give all I've got
To stay on top of the game,
But the nasty old rain
Won't stop racing the track.
Finally I see the finish line.
One more block!
I run into the house and slam the front door.
I've won a gold medal today!

It's amazing how one second it's a gorgeous day and the next it's pouring! I was caught in that pesky rain once. When I finally got shelter, I felt victorious!
