“One thing about human beings that puzzles me the most is their conscious effort to be connected with the object of their affection even if it kills them slowly within.”
- Sigmund Freud

I could say that I am over you
but I'd be lying through my teeth

I know this because the thought of you
stained every word I wrote
on the napkin I left
between the cushions
of the booth
in our favorite corner
of that diner
across the street
from the movie theater
where we first split
that medium popcorn
and large
diet
coke

I really like the way you set up this poem. The lines flow very well. At first I thought this would be a typical "I miss you poem" but this is amazing!
