Heavy beats pouring into my heart
My soul, it drums to the soundtrack
That courses through my ears and envelops me
In a blanket of a world
Full of swirling, unfurling, whirling colors
Bursts of red against my closed eyelids
Fingers tapping
Head bobbing, shaking, spinning
Mind whirling, full of sounds
Words, poetic all around me
Smile stretching across my face
Beat fading
Words closing
New words replacing
Sound creating
A whole new atmosphere
Escape from outside
In my own head
Sensations repeat
Joy becomes me

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this while well, listening to music. I love music with a passion and I just felt like expressing my love for it in this way. I hope people can connect with the poem and think about how they feel when getting lost in their favorite music and enjoying the experience.
