I have to tell someone
They need to know
Maybe then they’ll understand
Why I’m so
Bitter and hurt
And then they’ll know
Why I’m afraid to smile
Why I’m so ashamed
The pain in my heart
Remains untamed
Maybe one day
They’ll understand
Why I cant
Just forget and
What it means
To be afraid
Of your own shadow
To leave
A debt unpaid
To hide from the light
And to try so hard
But give up the fight
But I cant
And I won't
It will remain unspoken
These secrets I keep
Are better left
Hidden and buried
So not a peep
Don't mutter a word
Because Some secrets
Are better unheard
