To many this woman is known as Rebecca Sims. To me this woman is known as Mama Sims. Mrs. Sims is the eleventh and twelfth grade English teacher at Highland HomeSchool. Mrs. Sims is my pick for the Teen Ink Educator of the Year because her style of teaching is unique, she has school involvement and she helps us seniors emotionally and physically with everything we need.) She is not just a teacher she is the senior classes hero. With out this woman things would be chaotic. Mrs. Sims is a ex-marine so she is good at never giving up on us. Always being there for us shows all of us that we have someone to look up to.

Ms. Sims has a very unique way of teacher us students. She does lecture us like most teachers and reads along with us in our book. What makes Ms. Sims unique is how she gets the different points across to us. When we talk about contemporary literature she tells us details of why they did certain things back then. Mrs. Sims knows what she is talking about and helps us with whatever we need. She does not care about hurting your feelings and she yells a lot but, we know she still loves each of us. We know when to be serious with her and we know when we can joke around. Like all teachers she has good days and bad days but she never strays away from teaching us what we need to learn.

Mrs. Sims is not just a teacher that teaches but she has a lot of school involvement. Although Mrs. Sims is a serious teacher she can also be the craziest person in the room. She helps us seniors during the pep rallies cheering her heart out. Mrs. Sims schools spirit is above a lot of other teachers. She went online and bought a blue suit for one of our boy seniors to wear during the pep rallies. Mrs. Sims has taught both of my siblings and myself. I seriously think she knows my parents e-mails by heart. Mrs. Sims loves talking to our parents about us. She is also the supervisor for two clubs. She is in charge of Future Teachers of America and English Honor Society. Mrs. Sims is also in charge of all senior stuff. She gets all of our senior wear, helps us get all of our college stuff together, and finds different ways to get us involved in college fairs. As you can see Mrs. Sims is very involved in our lives as seniors.

Mrs. Sims always says she is ready for us to leave, but we all know she loves each and every one of us. For me personally she has made a huge impact on my life. She is someone I can vent to whenever our counselor will not help us with college information and calms me down whenever I am getting stressed out over all the work. When things get to serious and stressful she jokes around with us and tells us everything with be fine. Mrs. Sims helps us with scholarships as well. With her help we have already started looking up scholarship information. It is not even Mrs. Sims job and she is helping us with our future college plans. She is definitely a teacher who cares about helping her students.

Mrs. Sims is a excellent teacher in every way, shape, and form. Her crazy, energetic, fun loving attitude has won over the respect and love of all her students. Teaching us with force and laughter helps us students calm down and focus on what we need to know. Mrs. Sims being a kid at heart makes us feel like she is one of us. With all the hectic senior stuff we have going on Mrs. Sims puts herself in the middle of it and goes through it with us. Her being smart and strong has made her the best teacher around. Not only is Mrs. Sims my teacher, she is a person that I will remember for the rest of my life.

What inspired me to write this essay is the leaderships and role model qualities that my English teacher, Rebecca Sims, has on my life.
