Ava was taken to foster care a few days after she was born.
Growing up Ava didn’t think much about any family wanting her.
She was used to brothers and sisters moving in and out. New mommies and daddy’s coming to pick the child they wanted, while Ava was always in her room painting pictures of the heavens and earth. She was never noticed the little girl with curly red hair and big black glasses with a million little freckles on her cheeks, scrawny little arms and legs to long to fit a decent pair of jeans. She was always told, “No one will ever want a four-eyed freak that paints pictures of a heaven that isn’t real”
Ava would never get mad because each and every night she would kneel down beside her bed and pray. Each and every night Ava would hold her tiny pink Bible and say

“Hello God its me again Ava I just wanted to say thank you for being my best friend and thank you for loving me, I painted a picture for you today its of me and a family. I hope some day you can make m dreams come true.”

Ava would crawl in bed and drift off to sleep.

By the time Ava was 7 she had given up on praying and asking for a family.
But one day a mommy and daddy to be were coming today to pick one of Ava’s brothers and sisters but for some reason they asked about Ava. They said,

“Who is the cute little red head in the corner”
Ava was hiding.
Mrs. Ray Ava’s foster mother said

“Ava come on out of that corner and say hello to our guests”
Ava quietly come out of the corner peeked around Benny her older brother and very softly Ava said

“Hello”
The mommy and daddy to be smiled such a huge smile and pointed to Ava and said
“She is the one”
Mrs. Ray seemed surprised and said

“Ava? Ava is the child you want?”

The mommy and daddy to be smiled and said “Yes”
Ava looked up at Mrs. Ray and asked softly “Does that mean they want to be my mommy and daddy forever?”

Mrs. Ray held Ava closely in her arms hugging her tightly and said “Yes my love they will love you forever and always”
Mrs. Ray started to cry a little because she loved Ava very much and was happy to see that some one finally chose the little girl with red curly hair and big black glasses with a million freckles on her cheeks and give her a real home.
Ave looked up at her new mommy and daddy and said, “I’m Ava I am 7 years old and I like to paint”
Her new mommy and daddy smiled and said “Nice to meet you Ava” smiling so huge the new mommy started to cry of happiness.

Ava then packed her things and before she climbed into the back seat of her new mommy and daddy’s car she ran to Mrs. Ray and hugged her. Ava was crying because she also loved Mrs. Ray Ava then told her “Mrs. Ray please don’t cry, I always know that you will be my mommy to”
Ava then ran to the car and climbed in the back seat and as Ava and her new mommy and daddy drove off. Ava watched out her window at Mrs. Ray’s house get further and further in the distance and Ava then looked up to the sky and said
“Thank you”
