What You Can’t Miss at the Magic Kingdom!

So you’ve finally decided to give Walt Disney World a try? It’s about time you hopped on board. The most magical place on earth, where dreams come true everyday… That’s Disney World! The magical vacation spot is in the sunny center of Florida. It contains forty square miles of four theme parks, two water parks, shopping, and over twenty different resort hotels. The most popular theme park in Disney is the Magic Kingdom. With so many options of dining, rides, shows, and shopping, we’ve decided to give you some advice about what you can’t miss out on at the Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom is such a popular theme park because there is so much to do for each and every member of the family. Mother of four, Kim DeLuca states, “The whole park has a magical feel.” Right when you walk into Magic Kingdom your jaw will instantly drop when you see Cinderella’s Castle. The beautiful one-hundred-eighty-nine foot tall castle is such a magical sight you’ll want to capture forever; so, make sure to get a picture of it. After seeing Cinderella’s Castle, you should start to think about what land you would like to visit first. The Magic Kingdom is divided into five distinct areas (lands), all meeting at the top of Main Street U.S.A. right in front of Cinderella Castle. The five lands are; Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square and Adventureland (wdwinfo). There is so much to do in Magic Kingdom and so little time. “Tips for first time travelers are, be organized! Plan out ahead of time what you are going to do and when you are going to do it.” says a veteran visitor, Cindy Adams. Each ‘land’ in the Magic Kingdom has attractions for every age, shopping, and restaurants or a place to grab a quick snack. So it doesn’t matter which land you choose to visit first!

If you’re looking for a future and space like atmosphere, go check out TomorrowLand with everyone’s all time favorite ride, Space Mountain. There’s other fun rides like Astro Orbiter, Tomorrowland Speedway, Stitch's Great Escape, Buzz Light Year, and a small comedy show with Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. The next magical land is right around the corner from Tomorrowland, it’s Fantasyland. Here you can find Peter Pan’s Magical Flight, It’s a Small World, Dumbo’s flying Elephants, Journey of the Little Mermaid and of course, the classic Carousel. Some amazing shows in this land are Enchanted Tales with Belle and Mickey’s Philharmagic. Another land filled with loads of fun is Frontierland. This is where you’ll find two of the most popular rides in the park. Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. These two rides are so much fun and definitely something to have accomplished for your trip! Liberty Square is right across from Frontierland and one sight that pulls you in is the spooky, Haunted Mansion calling your name. This ride is perfect for people who loved the movie Haunted Mansion, but no fear if you don’t like that you can head over to the President’s Hall of Fame, which is a parent’s all time favorite. The last land, but certainly not least is Adventureland. It definitely lives up to its name. Here you have Aladdin's flying Carpets, Jungle Cruise, and another favorite, Pirates of the Caribbean. All of these lands have so many fun attractions for each and every member of the family. These were only some of the many rides in each land.

While walking from one attraction to the next be sure to check out some shops along the way. Cindy Adams says, “ Every place in Disney World has great items to choose from”. She always has to leave Magic Kingdom with a T-shirt as a souvenir. All this talk about rides is probably making you tired, just thinking about how much running around you will be doing all day long will be exhausting. Good thing that Magic Kingdom has amazing snacks and restaurants. If you’re looking for a sweet, fruity drink/treat a Dole Whip is something you can’t miss out on (DeLuca). Pineapple soft serve combined with pineapple juice is so amazing and a definite must. If you just want to stay awake and make it through the rest of the day, no fear, Starbucks is here! Yes, there is a Starbucks in the Magic Kingdom. Now if you’re ready for some actual food, we have got you covered. “Tony’s, Liberty tavern, Be our guest, Cinderella’s royal table” are the best places to eat at says Mrs. DeLuca. The amazing thing about Disney is that you can be entertained from the moment you walk into the park, till the moment you leave, and every moment in between. No one wants to miss out out on their favorite princes and princesses. Be Our Guest, and Cinderella’s Royal Table are character dining restaurants. If you don’t have the chance to get an autograph or snap a picture with a princess then you should definitely consider character dining. Besides, it’s wrong to leave Disney World without a picture of your favorite princess, dreamy prince, or most importantly, your favorite mouse.

The day is probably coming to an end by the time you have accomplished all of the must do’s and insiders tips. There is one more magical experience that you can not miss out on. Seeing the firework show at the end of the day is a perfect ending to a magical day. “Most spectacular of all Disney's parks are the parades and fireworks displayed at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Most notably, the current combo of the "Wishes" fireworks show, and the perennial nighttime favorite, Spectromagic.” (wdwindo). The amazing feeling that fireworks can give you is an incredible experience that you won’t want to miss out on, especially after a long day of hard work. Finally, you’ve completed your magical day at the one and only, Magic Kingdom.
