Grades do reflect what you have learned. For example Porsha from freedom writers states “I hurt when I get a bad grade, whenever my grades get low I feel like dropping out of school”. Because whatever you have or was learning for those couple of weeks once you take a test and get whatever grade you get it will tell how you did in class.

Also, you could be working your butt off in class in the class and take a test and do bad on it causing your grade to go down it doesn’t mean your “slow” or “dumb” it just means you did bad on your test, maybe you’re not a good test taker. For example, in middle school, I didn’t do anything in class but crack jokes and stare off into space and blew the test and when my grade came I had a fat F.

Another way grades reflect what you learned is because most of the time if you have an “A” in the class you’re going to listen to everything the teacher says and do everything in your power to keep you’re “A”. As if you had an “F” you’re not going to want to do anything. You’re going to want to drop out and eventually stop coming to class. It’s not going to matter to you as much then if you had an “F” or an “A”
