"Lather, Rinse, Repeat" by Laura Dallago was a heartfelt, touching narrative on a history of hairstyles. Hair was Laura's biggest insecurity-her hairstyle evolved over the years. Eventually, she realized that beauty is within. It took a simple shave to teach her this.

Laura's memoir grabbed me from the start. It began with, "Long. Short. Extremely short. Blue. Pink. Purple. Brown. Gorgeous. Hideous." As I read on, I found myself attatched to the narrator and eager to discover the hairstyle that would finally fit Laura. When she finally settled for a basic, brutally short two inches of hair, I exhaled in relief. A line from the narrative that was especially moving was, "Finally I was mature enough to grasp that I, not a flashy haircut, could make myself feel beautiful."
