Curvaceous Chapel

Long columns stretch to reach the kingdom of God.
The stained glass creates vivid bright imagery of peace
and golden fountain taps reflect against the holy water.
The humongous pipe organ towers over the front door

The vanilla walls create a bright and spiritual environment
while polished benches and doors invite others in.
The white columns are only matched by their golden capitals
and stained windows bring ample amounts of sunlight.

Small chatter is exchanged between groups of children
and winds blow intensely beyond the chapel's walls.
The tiny footsteps of the groups are only matched by
the loud cracks of doors and floorboards.

As I walk through the holy chapel,
I wonder how many people pray here every day
I ask myself in silence what it must have been
like to build a building this glorious.
How many have worked on this tower?

When I am in this castle, I am amazed by the height
of it all.
I feel at peace at when I gaze at its interior.
The cold wind is only matched by the warm feeling in the chapel.
And the designs of the walls bewilder me.

The castles huge dark doors draw me into a magical place.
The chapel retells biblical stories from thousands of years ago.
Every bench invites millions to rush in each year.
And while bringing them in, the church unites them with its beauty.

The chapel has details that can only be created by true artists.
Every last element has been carefully constructed,
No mark, drawing, paint job, or object placement has been done impetuously,
And everything about the chapel quietly screams: Peaceful

I was so exited and invigorated about my trip to Savanah that felt compelled to share the experience with others.
