"Sometimes you need to stop the war to remember what you're fighting for."

As the sky came thundering down upon our heads and
Hell came crashing in with ugly shades of red
I took you and  held you on the edge
So you wouldn't have to jump on your own volition
And before I let you slip through my trembling fingertips
I kissed you hard enough so you could only feel my lips
Oh, what is it like to be held that way?
knowing it’s the last time we could say

Thank you dear for being here for me and
Thank you god for who i came to be
There’s a world out there i really loved to live in
Thank you for the chance to watch it spin
I think there was much more for me to learn
But that’s alright cause everything must burn, one day
Ill take the pain and then wash it away
There’s black and white but maybe grey’s okay

Time was closing in on us
I was covered in ashes and dust
Was the burning in real life or in my heart?
I think i felt my pieces come apart

In the midst of the apocalypse

I said "I love you" then you started to slip
The world had grown a little bit too heavy
My shoulders sunk and I just wasn’t ready, no

Thank you dear for being here for me and
Thank you god for who I came to be
Yhere’s a world out there I really loved to live in
Thank you for the chance to watch it spin
I think there was much more for me to learn
But that’s alright cause everything must burn, one day
I’ll take the pain and then wash it away
My love is here and we will be again, some day

And in our final moment I looked and there you were
The ground was shaking and my eyes began to blur
You said “I am ready to make this leap of faith
the unknown can be our great escape”
No words were needed then, i knew we’d be again
I had already said

Thank you dear for being here for me and
Thank you god for who I came to be
There’s a world out there I really loved to live in
Thank you for the chance to watch it spin
I think there was much more for me to learn
But that’s alright cause everything must burn, one day
I’ll take the pain and then wash it away
There’s black and white but maybe grey’s okay
There’s black and white but maybe grey’s okay
I think I’ve said all there is to say

If the world was coming down on your shoulders, what would you do? What would you say to your loved ones?
