In the writing titled “Joe from Idaho” written by Patricia Friend I felt her writing about how she remained friends with Joe left me feeling happy and warm on the inside.  I feel that now a days everyone is always judging people for who they hang out with, and Patricia didn’t even care that Joe was autistic she was his friend because of who he is.  Once she knew that Joe was autistic she probably thought to herself wow I’ve been hanging out with someone who is autistic and it feels normal.  Patricia says, “I had never thought of him as different.” Because Joe seemed like a normal person who did weird things like all people it felt normal to Patricia.  She also said that Joe said, ”’thank you for not being normal too.’”  This shows that Joe knows what he has and he accepts it, and I believe some people wouldn’t except that and they would just try to fade away and not be out going like Joe.  Not Joe though, and that shows how strong he truly is.
