The movie Casper was filmed in the year 1995. It was directed by Brad Silberling. The genre of the movie is Fantasy. It's a really good movie; it's funny and kind of sad. I would recommend you to watch the movie. You will be laughing as you watch it. But also it would make you sad since they will tell you things that happened to him and what he's trying to do.

I like how the movie starts off with the feeling of being autumn. Also how they make the house look scary from outside. The dust and the webs inside the house makes it look like no one has lived there for a long time which makes it kind of scary too. Also the lighting of the house it looks like it’s kind of dark in some places, which makes it mysterious and creepy. The type of music was good in all the scenes it had.

I liked everything in the movie. The movie is about a ghost that lives in a mansion. One of the main character is Casper (Malachi Pearson). He died when he was twelve years old from pneumonia since he was outside in a cold weather. The only thing he tries to do is make friends but humans are just afraid of him since he's a ghost. He's one of my favorite characters because of what he had been through and what he's trying to do.

Three other characters’ are Stretch (Joe Nipote), Fatso (Brad Garrett), and Stinkie (Joe Alaskey). They scare people, are cruel, and are disgusting. I liked how the director added them too because people want to see this, not only friendly ghosts. Stretch, Fatso, and Stinkie of course had to have their fun in the movie and scare people and do other funny things.

Of course movies have to have a villain. That would be a woman named Carrigan Crittenden (Cathy Moriarty) and her friend Paul "Dibs" (Eric Idle). I like the role she plays in the movie, after her father died she went to a notary who was going to tell her what she inherited from her father, she was expecting lots of money but instead she got a mansion. The mansion just had to be haunted. When Carrigan and her friend Dibs went to visit the mansion they saw the ghosts and got terrified. Later they discovered that there was a treasure hidden inside the house. I like how they included this in the movie because it gets you wondering what the treasure might be.

Dr. Harvey (Bill Pullman) plays a role on being a specialist on ghosts "therapist to the dead". The reason why Dr. Harvey is a Specialist in ghost is because his wife died so he thinks she's a ghost. He's trying to see her one last time. I like how they mentioned the reason why he became a specialist on ghosts.
Kat Harvey (Christina Ricci) plays a role of being Dr. Harvey's daughter. She's another one of my favorite characters. She has been having a hard time because her mother died; the only thing she has left is her father. Kat and Casper became really good friends. When they were getting to know each other they found out that they had things in common.

In the movie Stretch, Fatso, and Stinkie were singing a song. The song reminded me of this movie called Problem Child where they have the original version of the song. "It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to cry if I want to" in the movie Casper they put die instead of cry so it went like "It's my party and I’ll die if I want to, die if I want to". I found that really funny when I first heard it.

If you haven't seen the movie I recommend that you do. It has its moments of comedy and its sadness, if you're a person who enjoys comedy then see this movie. If you're a person who loves emotional movies watch it.
