UnBroken
You stare at your ceiling
Eyes burning at four in the morning
You lost the motivation to close them
Long ago
You stare at your clock
Willing the minutes to slow to a crawl
You pray to whoever is listening
For some sign things will change today
You pray for an angel
But someone else hears your call
Somene perfectly handsome
Someone you met late in the winter cold
You ask for acceptance
And your perfect angel offers it
He takes you under his strong
Unbroken wings
He whispers in your ear
Even when he's seemingly thousands of miles away
He walks you through your worries
And talks you through your troubles
He seeems to shine brighter than the sun itself
But he claims his glow is dimmed by your own
He waits patiently to be invited in
Before tearing apart your life
He leaves you alone to cry
Knowing you'll run back to him
He smiles a glittering smile
Then vanishes into his smoke and mirrors
And then You stare at your ceiling
Eyes burning at four in the morning
Because he stole your motivation to close them
Long ago
