where i am from

I am from where the best music is the sound of nature such as bird singing and some others animals sounds. The sing of the rooster at five o’clock in the morning let us know that is time to go get water from the river, for the day uses. By the time we were done getting water we were delighted with the smell breakfast was served on the table. A big cup of fresh, black coffee along with a delicious plate with eggs fried with corn oil and then added tomatoes, onions, cilantro and a bit of salt while mama or grandma was making tortillas.
After we were amused with the breakfast we had to go to work, we were all happy. Since we were a bunch siblings and cousins some were riding horses to work while the rest walk but all together to the camp. Excitement while walking down the mountain enjoying the view of nearby towns and the biggest volcano of the state but we were never thinking that after a long day of work we will have to walk up the mountain to get back home. Dinner was even better because it was a celebration of a successful day and just after dinner we were ready to listen to grandpa’s stories about is experiences and anecdotes. That was pretty much our everyday life except Sundays.
The Sundays were to give thanks at church and then an exquisite lunch (always homemade food). That was the end of the week celebrate that we were all alive and healthy and pay for the goods of next week.
Then at the age of 14 moving to a strange world where technology keeps people away and together at the same time, where they prefer to know people from other places rather than enjoy the companion of the ones close. A country that as freedom but freedom disobeys God’s laws, friends change every day and those friend become stranger and time goes by, faster than we think without enjoying a second with your family because keeps every one busy.
I’m from southeast Guatemala where customs makes us unique and moving to U.S has clarified me where I belong to.
