One day when I was at school, I was thinking about how wrestling was over and we had the best coach ever, but he was leaving the next year. Then all of the sudden our old wrestling coach came up to me during school and said, “Did you know that there is a first annual state wrestling tournament for junior high.” I thought to myself and said, “I am going to do it.” So after school I told my mom and dad. They both said I could go, so all I was waiting for was to ask my older brothers Trey and Seth if they wanted to go.

When Trey and Seth got home they already knew about it and Seth wanted to go because he was still in junior high, but Trey was just going to be our coach with my dad, and I knew Trey would be good because he taught me almost everything I know. So the next day when I got to school I told my old coach and he thought that was cool. My dad knew there wasn’t going to be that many kids so he let me go. When we got signed up the next day a piece of paper came in with all the different weight classes on it. There were 75, 82, 85, 91, and so on to 215 or something like that. When my dad told me how many more days there was until the tournament, I had to practice because it was coming up.

The next day all I did was go to school, then I practiced for the wrestling tournament. I did that same routine for the week or so and then I took a week off so I would be ready for the challenge. When I woke up on the day I was leaving, I felt scared. I don’t know why I was nervous but I get nervous from sports all the time. As I was getting to the airport I bought some gum, because my ears pop a lot. When it was time to board we all said bye to the rest of my family and got on the plane. On the plane Trey and I just watched movies. Seth just slept the entire time. My dad just slept also. Trey and I watched movies like Finding Nemo and wrestling videos. As we landed in Anchorage, we all went to go and find a hotel where we could stay. We usually just stay in the Holiday inn Express, so we all didn’t mine staying there for a couple of days or so. So we had to go and get a car because we were going to be there for a week or so. Then we walked in the airport to the car rental place and got a mini-van so we could hall our stuff in it. When we all loaded up we went on our way to the hotel to unload our stuff and check in. Trey was telling me how they served cookies and 8:00P.M. But when we got to the dorm, we all went to go chill in the hot tub wile my dad went and got some food for lunch, because we got there around 1:00 or 2:00P.M. And we were hungry. When we got board of the hot tub we went in the dorm to dry off and wait for dad to come back. Trey and Seth fell asleep because they were wore out and anyway Seth really couldn’t eat because he was dieting. But Trey and I could. So when dad got back Trey woke up because he was starving, but my dad got hamburgers and some salads.

After we all ate we wanted to go have some fun so we went to H2OH’s. H2OH’s is an indoor water park inside Anchorage. We went there because my dad said that was a really fun place to go, so we went. When we got there, there wasn’t that much people there because all the kids were at school, so we had some fun. It was all fun and games until the kids came. When the kids got there we left. We went back to the hotel.

When we got to the hotel, we forgot about telling our grandma so then we called here. We wanted to meet here somewhere where we could all eat. When we found a pace we told here and met here there. The place was right across the street. When we got there my grandma and aunt was there with her kid and husband. Her kid is only like 7 or 8. As we were sitting down my grandma wanted a picture with all of us in it. After the picture our food got there and we ate. Then after we ate lunch my little cousin wanted to come and hang out with us, so when we got back to the motel my little cousin wanted to go in the swimming pool, so I went with him. All we did was play around in the pool and sat in the hot tub for a while. When he had to go, I went in our dorm and went to sleep. When I woke up there was only like three or four more days until we had to wrestle. My dad was thinking about something really fun so we all thought about going to the ski resort Aleaska. Aleaska was like a two to three hour drive but it didn’t matter because we all wanted to go. Seth was really sick so he had to come but when we got there he had to stay in the car the whole entire time. But we were only up there for about four or five hours and Seth slept that long so it didn’t really matter. When we had to leave we loaded up and went on that three hour drive again. When we got back in Anchorage we went out to a place where there was good food. We had to eat good food because we were about to wrestle. When we got back to the motel we only had a day.

The next morning we had to wake up early because it was a long drive and it started early. But when we got to the school we had to wrestle. When it was almost time to wrestle Trey would go wrestle around with me, but when it was my time to wrestle, I had to wrestle a weight class one ahead of mine. It wasn’t that bad because it was only 10 pounds over so it was good. I had to wrestle two weight classes because there was only me and another kid in mine. The first kid I wrestled was scared also, but I beat him just barely. I beat all the other kids easy but then it came to the time. I had to wrestle a kid that was in 8th grade and I was only in 6th. It was a big challenge. It turned out to go his way so I lost, but it was all good. And it turned out that I had to wrestle eight or nine times, and after that I was really tired. After that eight to nine times I had to wrestle the kid in my class, to see who the champ in that class is. After I wrestled him I beat him so I got first in my weight class and I got third in the one above me. So it was really good after all. Then we left the school and went back to the hotel. When we woke up we left early the next day. Then we were in Unalaska again.
