The sun beats down on the ground No life can be seen anywhere around The sand is drowned in heat The only life lives underneath A sheet of darkness to come outbound


The author's comments:

I wrote this poem because I was inspied by a TV documentery that I watched about how alive the dessert is, and despite ites arid apperence, it is actually an active and complex ecosystem.
