Memoirs done right could interest me a lot, especially if the topic is relatable. I enjoy writing and reading memoirs since they can portray a slice of someone's life. Perhaps this is why I enjoyed Christmas Cards by Christine M.. As the title suggests, the memoir is about making holiday cards.

Just as I stated before, it is crucial for a memoir to be relatable by the readers if it can be enjoyed. While I never really remembered making cards for others during the holidays, I can still understand the premise. It maybe boring at times, but I still am able to enjoy how thankful my recipients are. They can understand that I truly gave my feelings in the letters, no matter how short it was or how bored I was during the process was.

Christine definitely knows how this feels as well. In her article, she starts making her letters by changing the words using very generic holiday phrases. Later when she receives a special letter, she realizes how special any kind of cards are, and decides to make a unique one for Baba Olena. I couldn't agree more when Christine ended with “I smiled as I uncapped my shiny, black pen, pulled out a decorative card, and poured my heart onto the paper.”

Seems like an interesting book. Well written review, on a light and cheerful topic.
