Everyone has at least one hero, but often times more than one, that they look up to and strive to be like. These heroes are different for different people, meaning that I can have different heroes for different aspects of my life. Heroes are constituted by their many abilities which can include bravery, courage, strength, generosity, loyalty, wisdom, and confidence. A hero could have one or all of these characteristics, and influence people daily sometimes when they do not even notice. My modern day hero is Rich Baudry, my dad, because he is brave, courageous, strong, generous, loyal, intelligent, and confident. He shows these qualities all the time throughout everyday life and encourages me to do the same. My dad constitutes a hero by showing strength and generosity in helping others and through hard work; he shows loyalty and wisdom in his trustworthiness and his appetite for  knowledge; and he shows courage, bravery, and confidence every day while running his own company and standing up for his beliefs.

Strength and generosity are two very important characteristics of a hero that my dad portrays through his constant hard work and yearning to help others. My dad owns his own Physical Therapy clinic which takes a lot of hours out of the day. He is always working extremely hard in order to ensure success for his company. He works so that he can provide for his family, and he strives to give them the best life possible. This also shows how generous he is to time give up his own time for the sake of others. He also volunteers for various service activities including setting up tents and working them for several different races hosted in New Orleans and also helping with the flood in Baton Rouge. For most races hosted in New Orleans, my dad is right by the finish line with a popsicle in hand awaiting the runners to congratulate them. This exemplifies his good-heartedness as well as his generosity. He also went up to Baton Rouge to help the flood victims figure out where to go next. He also shows his generosity in simple things like helping my siblings and me with our homework. He is always looking to help others and make the world a better place through his strength and generosity.

Loyalty and wisdom are also very important character traits of a hero which my dad exemplifies by being trustworthy and always wanting to learn more. I can always trust my dad to tell me the truth and honestly help me in difficult situations. I know if I ask for help he is doing his absolute best to prepare me for the situation. This also shows his wisdom. He is very wise when it comes to relationships. If I ever have a problem with a friend or a teacher I know I can count on him to help me through and give me the advice to face my problems head on. He always knows what to say when I need a smile or encouragement. He does this for everyone as well as me. He is constantly talking to people in physical therapy, and he always knows what to say to make them feel good about themselves. My dad uses his loyalty and wisdom to love others and treat them with respect which constitutes him as a hero.

Lastly, some more qualities of a hero that my dad possesses are courage, bravery, and confidence which he shows in his business and in standing up for his beliefs. First, he shows courage by taking risks. He recently campaigned for a bill to get signed into a law. The bill was to allow patients direct access to their physical therapist, which means that they would not have to go to the doctor first. He courageously took a lot of time to prepare campaigns and videos in order to push the bill into a law. Due to his perseverance, the bill did become a law and he has benefitted tremendously from it. Secondly, he shows bravery every day when he goes to work. Eight years ago he decided that he wanted to open his own physical therapy clinic and work to make it better each day. Through hard work and bravery, he has grown his business which now is very successful. However, he never stops working on his practice and continues to make it better every day. Lastly, he shows confidence in everything he does. When he believes in something, he makes sure that he stands strong in his belief. My dad is a hero because of his continual examples of courage, bravery, and confidence.

Throughout everyday life, my dad displays the characteristics of a hero such as strength and generosity in volunteering and hard work; loyalty and wisdom by constantly wanting to learn more; and courage, bravery, and confidence by standing up for his beliefs and running his own company. My dad is very generous because of his volunteer work with races, and recently, his work in Baton Rouge. He also shows strength by taking time out of his day to help others while still running a successful business. My dad also shows the heroic qualities of being loyal and wise. He is constantly learning new things about physical therapy and life in general, and he is always willing to share and help me out. He is especially wise when it comes to relationships with others and how it is best to approach others to get the best possible response. Finally, he is courageous, brave, and confident. He shows these qualities by successfully running his own business, and taking risks in order to make his practice better. Overall, my dad is one of my main role models in life because of his many heroic qualities.

May God keep on blessing your family. It seems you have a good dad. Apparently, few people bother to become good parents nowadays, so you and your siblings are some of the lucky ones.
