May I sit with you? Asked the spork,
speaking to the spoons
Are you a spoon?
Well, No –
Then no, leave us alone
May I sit with you? Asked the spork,
speaking to the forks
Are you a fork?
Well, No –
Then no, please step away.
So the spork leaves and sits by himself
Alone and dejected
For he never knows he’s beautiful
Only that he’s different.

When I first started writing poetry based on random nouns, I jokingly told my friends that I could write an emotional piece about a spork. I decided to actually write the poem, and I aimed to highlight modern day bullying and how everyone is concerned with "fitting in."
