In "Your Locker, Now that You're Gone," Xander B. mentions that abusive relationships are not typically talked about when it is concerning a close friend, or more often a female friend. I believe this statement is true, mostly because people believe males are often more violent than females, but it is not reduced to gender or romantic relationships. Abusers can be anybody, including those close to you, and that is something that should be recognized. Though, these things are not always easy to recognize, "every warning sign was there in big red letters spelled out in the sky for all to see" but they are usually ignored because nobody ever thinks these things will happen to them. You never really consider it until it's too late which is something more people should be aware of. Thank you, Xander, for sharing your story and spreading awareness.
