When the wind picks up
And the fire dies down
Leaving nothing but marmalade embers
I promise to hold you close to me
On the darkest, and coldest Decembers
When in spring the flowers blossom
The cherry pink flowers will bloom
And even surrounded by all of this beauty
The thing I admire, is you.
When the air gets hot and humid
And you find yourself craving the cold
I will remind you of the days in December
When we sat there, it was you I would hold
When the leaves start to fall and when life starts to die
Do not fret my darling. It is simply
the cycle restarting
For the leaves may be falling and the plants may be dying
But I will always be falling for you.

A piece I wrote for a girl who is no longer in my life. May the memory of what we had live on with this poem.
